My Morning Cup of Coffee – One morning, while riding the Marc train to the office, I was instantly inspired to write when I heard the exchange between the rail attendant and a passenger. The attendant asked all passengers to pull out their train tickets. The passenger, searching in his briefcase, unable to locate his ticket, says, “I’m sorry, hold on; I don’t know what I did with it.” The attendant, being kind, said, “Don’t worry, I’ll come back.” Just then, the passenger said, “Wait a minute, here it is. I put it in the hole”, after realizing he had put his train ticket in a slot on the side of his briefcase. Instantly I chuckled to myself and thought, how often in life have we missed what is important, what we needed to move forward for success, all because “we put it in the hole.” Do you know the hole? That place of unpreparedness. That place that says, “I’ll just pull “it” out when I need “it,” only to find that we need “it” at a time when we least expect it. Then, we must look for “it” because “it’s” in a place where we just cannot seem to find “it.” Wow – Coffee for Thought! Now, if I can just keep from putting “it” in the hole. Can you relate to this experience?
