I May Be Slow, But I’m Sure!

My Morning Cup of Coffee – Years ago, I had an undergarment that said, “I may be slow, but I’m sure.” In that, it was all it said, and it was an undergarment; what I was slow at and sure about was whatever I imagined. Even as I start my morning cup of coffee with this topic, you are wondering for yourself. Using this analogy was to get your attention; I am talking about consistency this morning. Do not belittle the idea of a slow start and small successions. In our minds, fast is sure. But like the tortoise life, experiences have taught me that while being slow to start may cause you to lose out on things, there is one thing that always happens no matter what, you get there. Being sure means being confident. Do not berate yourself for slow or small beginnings. If you are consistent in whatever you do, you can say, “I MAY BE SLOW, BUT I’M SURE.”

Pull Them Out

PULL OUT

Have you ever dug your heels so deep that even when you are ready to pull them out, they are too far in? Then, suddenly you forget the cause. You simply want out, but you are unwilling to give in to save face. Whose face, your face? Call it pride, stupidity or ignorance, or plain selfishness. I am not sure which one applies since, regrettably so, I have found myself in this position before. Nobody loves a healthy debate more than I do. In fact, my family invented the word debate. Wisdom is not always being right, but wisdom is the “ability to judge correctly and to follow the best course of action, based on knowledge and understanding.” (“Wisdom – Sophia | Precept Austin”) Sometimes it is difficult to give in when you have put so much of yourself into the fight, I mean debate. Learn to concede sometime. PULL OUT while you still have a chance. Its profit is better than the profit of silver, and its gain than fine gold. Can you recall a time when you refused to let go, and it had a negative effect on the outcome?

The Show Must Go On!

My Morning Cup of Coffee – If you are a performer, radio talk host, actor or television personality, or any artist, you are familiar with the words the show must go on. Faced with the prognosis of what could be my diagnosis, I begin considering what if. Allowing myself to be shaken, I began to adjust my thinking. The thoughts begin to bombard my mind. Then just as I have always encouraged you to surround yourself with like-minded people, the phone rings, and the text messages come. The phone rings again, and the tumors are benign, but a complete thyroidectomy is required. The battle of your mind is always there, but in His presence, you persevere. What are you persevering through?
